    1. I love this book. The trivia pieces are of uneven quality, but overall combination of simple and quick recipes and the whole theme is excellent. And the book is nearly flawless, as every dissonance is explained in context.

    2. I haven’t ‘read' many cookbooks front to back before, so admittedly don’t have much expertise in this area, but this one is really intriguing so far. Love that the author provides historical context for each recipe - and even better that the recipes themselves seem fairly straightforward. =======Update - I actually “read” the book, recipes and commentaries both, and have made a few things from it! It’s a great book, one that I would recommend to anyone who wants to make basic (not so [...]

    3. First - these are great recipes regardless of their historical context. Second - the historical context the author provides is wonderful. 4. In the last few weeks I've read this cookbook and "Kosher Chinese" and I've learned a lot about Chinese culture and history of the Cultural Revolution that I didn't know. And the recipes look really good, can't wait to try them.

    5. świetna książka! pięknie wydana, sporo ciekawych informacji o rewolucji kulturalnej, ale co najważniejsze przepisy są rewelacyjne, bardzo proste do wykonania i smakują tak jak Chinach! polecam wszystkim!
